Ginger, Clove, sweet orange & Moonstone

Menstruation has long held connections to our moon. Mensis in Latin means “month.” The word menses, “months” is still used today to describe the monthly cycles of women. For ages, there has been a correlation with women and the moon; we wax and wane as she does.

I came up with my Moon Blood blend due to my own menorrhagia, which can be severely debilitating at times. I found that the natural warming sensation of ginger often helped alleviate the painful menstrual cramps I experienced each month.

Ginger, a root itself, can be associated with the body’s root energy center, which governs blood flow and  primal physical needs.

Clove complements ginger's spicy, earthy scent. Sweet orange oil sweetens things up, and I add Moonstone to this blend for the sacral energy center, which correlates with the sexual organs and reproductive system.

Moonstone, with its ties to the Divine Feminine, has been used to encourage empathy and compassion, heighten intuition, and promote tranquility within one’s self.

While this bath was originally designed around Womxn and their moon blood, it can be enjoyed at any time, by any person, of any gender, (or lack therof.)
